About Drs. Joseph Lupo and Bennett Boustany Fontenot

Drs. Lupo and Fontenot have teamed up to bring their practice to the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Center of Acadiana at Lafayette General. Their brand new, luxurious office is located in Lafayette's Oil Center.

Both surgeons specialize in aesthetic surgery of the face, body and breast, and full body reconstruction, with a special emphasis on breast reconstruction including the DIEP flap.

Dr. Lupo began his practice at Lafayette General in 2014. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Miami School of Medicine, after obtaining his bachelor’s degree in biological science from Flordia Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Dr. Lupo completed a General Surgery residency at Dartmouth Medical School and a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans. He is also certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Fontenot earned his Doctor of Medicine at the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, after obtaining his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from LSU in Baton Rouge. He completed a General Surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, and a Plastic and Reconstructive fellowship at the University of Texas in Houston. While there, he rotated at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he was trained in DIEP flap microsurgical breast reconstruction. He is also certified by the American Board of General Surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association.
