The goal of CompCare, LGMC's Occupational Health Program, is to help companies keep their employees healthy and injury-free by promoting preventive care and education. The Occupational Health Program, in conjunction with LGMC's Wellness Center, offers a comprehensive range of health promotion services such as aerobic and weight training, massage therapy, various health screenings and customized or standard lifestyle change classes on weight control, smoking cessation and stress management. CompCare can also conduct corporate fitness assessment programs for employees and, after reviewing the results, assist employers in designing lifestyle management and education classes to improve the health of the work force. Health screenings, from cardiovascular assessment to blood pressure and finger-stick cholesterol profiles, can be arranged at our sites or the employer's workplace.

Safety Services

Many companies also depend on the occupational safety services we offer such as:

• job site analyses and job description development
• CPR, body mechanics and general job site safety classes
• Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals
• medical history reviews
• audiometric testing
• lung function studies
• drug screening

Injury Management

In cases of worker injuries, we offer a 24-hour Injury Hotline - 983-PAIN (7246) - and quick referrals to appropriate health care providers within our occupational health network. The network consists of physicians and clinics with a return-to-work attitude, assuring appointments within 48 hours of referral and short waiting periods. It covers the Acadiana area and includes our two Quick Care minor emergency centers at Southpark near Youngsville and in Carencro. Both offer extended hours and have on-site laboratory and X-ray services.

Our Physical Therapy Department also accommodates workers with early or late hour appointments.

One Contact

All CompCare services can be arranged through a single point of contact - a dedicated employer relations representative who promotes hospital services to employers and their employees and connects them with hospital resources.  For more information, speak to our Employer Relations Representative Iva Thibodeaux at 337-289-8628 or email her your information on our contact us page.
