Urgent Care Walk In Clinics in Acadiana
Deciding whether your illness or injury is a true emergency can be hard when you feel sick or are in pain. While the hospital's
(ER) is prepared for every kind of medical emergency, Lafayette General's urgent care walk in clinics are a great place to visit for medical needs that cannot wait for an appointment. Many people don't know how severe a condition needs to be in order to visit a quick care clinic or emergency room, so why not come in anyway just in case?
Skip the Wait! Select an arrival time online before going to any of three Lafayette General Urgent Care Centers.
We know medical issues don't just pop up during normal business hours. We are an after hours walk in clinic providing convenient, urgent care in the evening and on weekends.
Our urgent care centers provide treatment for common illnesses and minor injuries. While the hospital ER treats patients based on the severity of their conditions, not in order of who gets there first, our urgent care centers see patients on a "first come first served" basis, with limited wait time.
Lafayette General provides quality urgent care, on a walk-in basis, at convenient locations:
Our walk in clinics are open seven days a week:
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
(The clinic at UHC has different hours of operation)
Our only exceptions are closing on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
When to Go to Urgent Care?
Any cough or cold that does not get better in several days, or a cough that gets worse and is accompanied by a fever
Rash/Skin Irritation especially if there is a fever
Minor broken bones and sprains/strains
Cuts that might need stitches
Removal of stitches
Severe or constant vomiting or diarrhea
Animal and insect bites
Upper respiratory infection
Lafayette General's Urgent Care Centers also offer immunizations, such as the
, lab draws, annual check-ups and employee physicals on a walk-in basis.
Lafayette General Urgent Care Centers are also a great place for pediatric urgent care. It is the policy of our urgent care centers to treat persons one year of age and older. Children under one year of age can be susceptible to a variety of ailments and need to specifically see a pediatrician. Lafayette General Medical Center offers a Dedicated Pediatric Treatment Area within the Emergency Room. The Pediatric Treatment Area is open every day from 11am - 11pm and is staffed by pediatricians.
