Lafayette General is pleased to announce the winners of the 2009 Heart of Nursing

Awards. These honorees, listed below, were voted on by their nursing peers as representing the heart of the nursing profession—clinical excellence, compassionate care, outstanding teamwork, continuing education, professional and community involvement. This year’s honorees are:
- Ashley Bearb, RN- 3rd Floor
- Lamar Bellard, RN- 7th Floor
- Nicholas Comeaux, RN- Cath Lab
- Mary Couvillon, RN- Peds
- Debbie Deslatte, RN- Outpatient Surgery
- Jill Karr, RN- ICU
- Mitch Martin, RN- Emergency
- Karen Robison, RN- ICU
Congratulations to all of our outstanding nurses. The 17th Annual Heart of Nursing banquet, open to the public, will be held May 7 beginning at 6:00 pm at the Petroleum Club of Lafayette. Tickets are $20 for adults and $8 for children and are available in Nursing Administration.

In addition, Heart of Nursing honoree Mary Couvillon has also been named a recipient of the Louisiana State Nurses Association District IV "Acadiana Celebrates Nursing" Award. She will be one of 25 nurses from the seven-parish Acadiana area honored on May 1.
