LGMC Welcomes New Radiation Oncologist - 5/20/2010 -

Lafayette General Medical Center and CyberKnife Center - Louisiana Welcomes
Brent P. Mahoney, M.D., Ph.D., Radiation Oncologist

Brent P. Mahoney, M.D., Ph.D., radiation oncologist, joins Lafayette General Medical Center and CyberKnife Center - Louisiana.  Dr. Mahoney is specialty-trained in CyberKnife® stereotactic radiosurgery.  He received his medical degree from Tulane University and completed his residency at VirginiaDr. Brent Mahoney Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.

"It is clear already that Brent is not only a skilled physician, but a compassionate caregiver,” says Dr. Alan Appley, neurosurgeon and CyberKnife Center medical director.  "He has an incredible attention to detail in radiation therapy planning.  He will be a great asset to LGMC, the CyberKnife team, and our patients.”

The Cancer Center of Acadiana at Lafayette General Medical Center includes oncologists, Dr. Michael Cain, Dr. Deborah Johnson, Dr. Paulette Blanchet, Dr. Victoria Panelli and Dr. Luis Meza, in addition to a patient navigator, licensed dietician, and social worker.
