Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) announced April 12 that Amanda Logue, M.D., has accepted the position of Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) for the hospital and its affiliates. Dr. Logue will continue to serve as Medical Director for LGMC’s hospitalist program, and as a hospitalist on a part-time basis.

Dr. Logue was instrumental in planning, implementing and executing the hospital’s electronic record-keeping system, PRIDE (Pathway Resources to Implementing Decisions for Excellence), making her an ideal fit for her new role.

From her CMIO position, Dr. Logue will assist in the development of clinical information systems to support the delivery of patient care across the health system. According Chief Operating Officer Patrick Gandy, her role will help leverage the hospital system’s investment in information technology to improve patient safety, quality of care, clinical outcomes and the cost of care.

Dr. Logue says she is excited about her added duties. "I hope I can impact the growth and development of electronic medical records in a way that is useful and meaningful to our patients and entire medical staff,” says Dr. Logue.
