Paid Time Off and Holidays

Immediately upon hire, employees begin earning accrued hours for flex-time and extended illness based on employment status (full/part-time). Employees may use accrued hours after 90 days of employment. LGH recognizes 7 holidays each year and include: New Year's Day, Mardi Gras, Good Friday/Easter Sunday, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. We also offer an 8th floating holiday.   

FULL-TIME/QUALIFIED PART-TIME EMPLOYEES

Benefits will become effective on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.  

Health and Dental Insurance
LGH will contribute toward the employee and dependent premiums. Employees must enroll for Core benefits within 30 days of the date of hire.

Vision Insurance
LGH offers a full-service plan with allowances for exams, frames, and contact lens. Employees cover the premium cost.

Life Insurance
LGH will cover the premium for full-time employees to receive two times (part-time employees one time) their annual salary to a maximum of $50,000. Employees may purchase additional term life insurance coverage from 1 to 5 times annual salary to a maximum of $500,000.  

Long-Term Disability
LGH pays the premiums for individual employee coverage of up to 50% of pay after 6 months of disability.

401(k) Retirement Plan
LGH offers Basic and Matching Contributions on Employer Plans. 
1) Employer Only Contributed 401k
2) Employee Contributed 401k with Employer Matching
Matching = first 3% of gross pay is matched by LGH at the rate of $.67 on the dollar every payroll.  

Discounts
LGH offers discounts through various vendors in the local community along with nationwide vendors through our Group Purchasing Office. Discounts are available for events, clinical apparel, and cell phone services to name a few.

Educational Opportunities
LGH provides free in-house continuing education through the fully-staffed Clinical Education Department.  

Credit Union
LGH offers checking and savings account by payroll deduction. This includes competitive interest rates on loans, interest bearing accounts, money market accounts and more.

Employee Health and Wellness

Health/Fitness Center
Promoting good health through education, attention to lifestyle and specialized physical activity is the focus of Lafayette General Health's highly-regarded Wellness Center at the Townhouse. Located on 111 Pasa Drive in the old Townhouse next to the Heymann Center, it houses a fully-equipped and modern gym and aerobics areas. The Center is staffed by a registered nurse, exercise physiologists and aerobics and fitness instructors for a safe and convenient environment. Best of all, Lafayette General Health employees receive a discounted membership and can use payroll deduction for their membership fees. Family plans are also available.

Offered at no cost during flu season

Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
LGMC offers free, confidential, short-term counseling and referral to community resources for full-time and part-time employees experiencing personal challenges. The use of EAP services is voluntary and available 24 hours per day. 

Legal Services
Available to full-time and part-time employees through our Employee Assistance Program. 

Smoking Cessation
Long-time smokers will be incentivized to quit with these classes covered under the health plan. Non-smokers are rewarded with an increased premium discount.
