Radiology School
Length: 24 months
Program Mission:

Our mission is to provide students with the didactic and clinical education needed to become competent radiographers.

Program Goals:

1. Develop clinical      competence required of radiographers.

2. Students will demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills.

3. Students will display an understanding of professional growth and lifelong learning.

Schedule: 2 hours of classroom lecture per day, 6 hours of clinical participation per day.
Hours are generally from 7:30 am - 4 pm, Monday through Friday. 
Students rotate on evenings and weekends during their last six months.

Cost: $9,000 tuition, $100 registration, $1,500 books and supplies, and $500 uniforms.

Requirements:

  1. Completion of high school or certification of equivalent education (GED).  **Note:  in 2013, applicants must have a minimum of an Associate's Degree to be considered for admission to the Radiography Program.
  2. Three letters of recommendation from academic or professional references.
  3. Take an aptitude test given by the program faculty. (The top scorers on the aptitude test will be interviewed.)
  4. The satisfactory completion, with a 2.0 or better on a 4.0 grading system, of the following college courses*:
    • English Composition
    • Algebra
    • Psychology
    • Natural Science Course
    • Computer Applications or Computer Literacy
    • One 3-hour elective in either English, Math or Science
    • Speech/communications
  5. An official transcript of ALL academic credits.
  6. Documented observation in a radiology department.

* Note: Remedial college courses do not apply and will not be considered as having fulfilled all educational requirements.  All courses must be complete by the end of the spring semester coinciding with the application process.

Selection:  6 students will be selected by the admissions committee.

A new course begins every September.

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) promotes excellence in education and elevates quality and safety of patient care through the accreditation of educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry.
