LAFAYETTE – Cancer Center of Acadiana (CCA) at Lafayette General was recently honored with the
Core Value Award of Compassion – the first award of its kind presented by
Dexcomm Answering and Communications Services. The award is presented for professional excellence in
focusing on the care of others to meet their needs in a considerate,
sympathetic, professional manner, no matter the challenge.
This recognition is based on Dexcomm employee nominations
acknowledging an organization that has exemplified the Dexcomm Core Values and
was selected by a company consensus.
"We couldn’t be
prouder to name the Cancer Center of Acadiana at Lafayette General as the first
recipient of our Compassion Award,” says Jamey Hopper, President of the
Carencro-based Dexcomm. "Our staff
appreciates Cancer Center of Acadiana at Lafayette General for their commitment
to the health and well-being of the Acadiana community. As a provider of messaging services,
we’re especially grateful for the opportunity to aid in this commitment by
helping CCA stay connected to the patients for whom they care so dearly.”
The Cancer Center of Acadiana, in
conjunction with Lafayette General Medical Center, offers a full complement of
effective treatment therapies, from chemotherapy to CyberKnife®radiosurgery and all
other forms of radiotherapy, including image-guided radiation therapy. The staff includes a group of
board-certified oncologists, a radiation therapist and an entire support team
that guides the patient from diagnosis to treatment and into survivorship.
"As
our slogan says, we are ‘not a normal cancer center,’” says Craig Ortego, Vice
President of Cancer Services. "What sets us apart, aside from our treatments and the skills of our oncologists, is that the patient is truly
at the center of everything we do.”
