Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) retained its
traditional top spot as the "Best of Acadiana”, when it was once again named
Best Hospital in The Times of Acadiana annual readership survey. The 2012 results named LGMC the best in
the following categories:
-
Best Emergency Department
-
Best Hospital
-
Best Cancer Center
LGMC was also a runner-up in the "Best of” categories for
Place to Have a Baby and Walk-In Clinic/Urgent Care.
The Times reported that nearly 20,000 voters cast ballots in
this year’s contest.
Lafayette General has consistently been a favorite of The
Times readers, garnering the title of "Best Hospital” and "Best Emergency
Department” for several years running.
"It is our vision to build a regional health care system
that always delivers excellence in
care and outcomes,” says LGMC President/CEO David L. Callecod, FACHE. "This type of feedback from the
community is both an honor and a tribute to the hard work we do.”
The announcement of winners was disclosed Monday night by
The Times at its annual "Best of” party hosted at The City Club at River Ranch,
where early editions were handed out to guests in lieu of Thursday’s weekly
publication.
"We’d like to thank the entire community for their continued
support and encouragement,” says Callecod. "They are what keeps us motivated to fulfill our mission to
restore, maintain and improve health.”
