January ‘Man to Man’ Seminar: Living With Prostate Cancer
Morbidity of Prostate Cancer and its Treatment
Lafayette General Medical Center will host a free community education talk on January 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the hospital’s Radiation Oncology Waiting Room, 155 Hospital Dr., Suite 100. The talk is for anyone interested in learning more about prostate cancer and the latest treatment options.
Dr. Scott Neusetzer, board certified urologist, will give an overview of what to expect when diagnosed with prostate cancer, as well as treatment options.
The American Cancer Society recommends that men beginning at age 50 discuss the benefits and risks of testing at annual check-ups, as well as the pros and cons of early detection and treatment. Men at high risk, such as African-American men and those who have a father or brother diagnosed with prostate cancer at an early age, should begin testing at age 45.
