Hilton Dugas
|
|
One day after work in June, Hilton Dugas, Facility Services,
left work to help some friends with an air conditioning problem. Shortly after
arriving at the home and greeting the husband and wife, Hilton noticed that the
woman seemed confused and started to grab her arm. He also noticed that she
couldn’t speak and that one side of her face was beginning to droop. Right
away, Hilton told his friend that he believed his wife was starting to have a
stroke and that she needed to get to the hospital immediately. She was brought
to LGMC’s ED and treated within minutes–and has made a full recovery.
Hilton says that,
because of the stroke education he received here at the hospital, he was able
to recognize the warning signs and, in turn, help save someone’s life.
