Ted Breaux & Others (LGMC Facility Services)

2/10/2017

The season of giving was in full swing at the end of 2016 and a few LGH employees were able to turn a small gesture into a big difference. A good Samaritan took in a neighbor and her granddaughter after they were displaced from their home. Concerned that the little girl would not have anything to open for Christmas, the Samaritan made a stop at Wal-Mart. It was there that she bumped into Ted Breaux, a member of our Facility Services team at Lafayette General Medical Center.

After discussing the situation, Breaux reached into his pocket and handed the woman $20. But that wasn’t enough for him. With the help of his family as well as fellow members of the Maintenance Department (Brent Boudreaux, Jad Bordelon, Jimbo Breaux, Tom Hebert and Murry Smith), Breaux was able to raise $200 to donate to this family in need.

The money went towards buying the girl a new pair of school pants and a few Christmas gifts. The small act of kindness embodies what the holiday season and Lafayette General Health is all about. Way to go Ted!
