St. Martin Hospital Now Offers Wound Care Services

St. Martin Hospital (SMH) now offers advanced wound care services 
under acclaimed international wound care expert, Kerry T. Thibodeaux, M.D., FACS.

SMH is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Thibodeaux, M.D., FACS, Board Certified General Surgeon, Vascular Surgeon and Wound Care Specialist to our medical staff.

Dr. Thibodeaux, a native of St. Martinville, a graduate of University of Louisiana at Lafayette and of Louisiana State University (LSU) Medical School in New Orleans. During his time at LSU, he was the Chief Resident and received a grant to study the effects of treatment to wounds, which led to his interest of his specialty.

Dr. Thibodeaux serves on various national and international Wound Care Advisory Boards, is a peer review physician for publications speaks on advanced wound care cases at conferences throughout the world and conducted many studies of new products helping them reach FDA approval and their use in the healthcare industry. He has authored/co-authored and published many advanced wound care articles in national medical journals, along with poster presentations viewed at international wound care meetings.

Dr. Thibodeaux will be providing state of the art wound care services at St. Martin Hospital. He will incorporate a multidisciplinary protocol to all wound healing from the most conventional wound care therapy to debridement’s with advanced specialty dressings and compression therapy. Dr. Thibodeaux will also bring to our patients the use of advanced skin tissue products to combat hard to heal wounds.

He is trained in Wound Care services and is diligent in becoming educated in the latest wound care procedures and products. SMH ensures that each patient receives the best, state of the art wound care services.

He will work closely with other SMH staff and the patient’s primary care physician on every aspect of their wound care needs. SMH will care for each patient as individuals from their nutritional status to being their personal support system during treatment and make certain their progress is in conjunction with their physician’s orders.
