LGMC, ULL’s Winning Tradition Continues

The ULL Ragin’ Cajun football team makes its annual visit to Lafayette General Medical Center on Monday, Dec. 15. This will be the team’s last public appearance before departing Lafayette for the New Orleans Bowl.

The ULL football team has visited LGMC every year of Coach Mark Hudspeth’s tenure, which has culminated in three-straight New Orleans Bowl victories. This is the team’s fourth-consecutive appearance representing the Sun Belt Conference, facing the Nevada Wolfpack out of the Mountain West Conference on Dec. 20.

Coach Hudspeth and his team will arrive in the hospital lobby at 2 p.m., where the coach will give a brief motivational speech, along with Lafayette General Medical Center CEO Patrick W. Gandy, Jr. The team will then break into groups to visit different areas of the hospital to spend time visiting patients.

This tradition has been a winning one for Coach Hudspeth, having his Ragin’ Cajun squad first visit the hospital in his inaugural season before heading to New Orleans to secure the school’s first bowl win. Following that same routine with the same results hopefully means the good fortune will continue this year.
