LGMC Receives Award for Improvement in Revenue Cycle

Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) was awarded the 2014 MAP Award for Performance Improvement in Revenue Cycle by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). LGMC is one of only three hospitals nationwide to receive the award. As a national award winner, LGMC has shown how its targeted improvement initiatives improved financial performance.

“At a time of many changes in the healthcare industry and at our hospital, our revenue cycle improvement is a remarkable accomplishment,” says Patrick Gandy, Jr., CEO at LGMC. “This honor is a tribute to Carolyn McBride, Director of Patient Financial Services, and to Jessie Hanks, our Director of HIM (Health Information Management), for their leadership, and to their staff, for their ongoing collaboration of efforts and excellent work,” says Gandy.

LGMC will be presented with the award at the HFMA MAP Award event in Las Vegas, NV, in November.
