LGH Receives Prestigious Industry Award

LGH Guardian of Excellence Press Ganey AwardLGH Press Ganey Pinnacle of Excellence AwardSeveral Lafayette General Health (LGH) hospitals received honors from Press Ganey Associates, Inc., a national leader in healthcare analytics.  Press Ganey’s prestigious Guardian of Excellence Award and Pinnacle of Excellence Award honors were granted to Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC), Lafayette General Surgical Hospital (LGSH), St. Martin Hospital (SMH) and LGMD Physician Group (LGMD).  

The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing health care organizations that have consistently achieved the 95th percentile or above of performance in select categories.  The Pinnacle of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing clients from health care organization nationwide on the basis of extraordinary achievement in consistently high levels of excellence for at least three years in select categories as well.  

The 2016 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award winners were LGMC for Excellence in Patient Experience in HCAHPS; LGSH for Patient Experience in Ambulatory Surgery; SMH for Employee Engagement; and LGMD for Patient Experience in Medical Practice, CGCAHPS, Urgent Care and Employee Engagement. 

The 2016 Press Ganey Pinnacle of Excellence Award winners were LGMC for Excellence in Patient Experience in Inpatient Care, and LGSH for Patient Experience in Ambulatory Surgery. 

According to David L. Callecod, FACHE, President of LGH, the awards represent an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the patient experience.  “We are continuously striving to improve our practices to ensure every patient, visitor, physician and employee experience is an excellent one,” says Callecod.  “These awards demonstrate our dedication and commitment to excellence as a health system which people have come to expect.”
