Lafayette General Foundation Gala and Art Auction
It will be an elegant evening for fine art and a worthy cause, as the Lafayette General Foundation hosts its second-annual Gala and Art Auction on October 2 at the Heymann Performing Arts and Convention Center ballroom.
The Gala serves as an annual fund-raising event for the Foundation, whose proceeds support Acadiana’s only community-owned hospital, Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC), a 501c(3) not-for-profit corporation. The Foundation enhances the ability of the hospital to buy new equipment, build new facilities and better serve the Acadiana community with the highest standards of care available in the region.
The Gala will feature works of art produced by Lafayette General physicians and other local artists that will be auctioned off by Master of Ceremony Senator Fred Mills, Jr. In addition to an evening of food, wine and light music, the program will feature words from LGMC President/CEO David L. Callecod, FACHE, among others.
A reception and viewing period will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the program and auction planned for 7:30-9:30 p.m. Black tie is optional.
Tickets are $200 per person. They can be purchased by calling Schuyler Kleinpeter, Lafayette General Foundation Director, at (337) 289-8950, or online by going tohttp://cfacadiana.org/Files/Product/Fiscal_Sponsorships_34/LGMC_Gala_Tickets_161.asp.
As a not-for-profit corporation, LGMC generates money by billing for its health care services, but does not pay out any revenue to shareholders as for-profits do. Any net revenue is reinvested into the organization, which is locally managed by an administrative team, volunteer membership corporation and board of trustees.
