Heather Smith, Director of Cardiopulmonary Services at UHC

How special it is to know that the person who heads the standards team truly lives to serve others and strives to “Make a Difference” everyday! Not only is Heather Smith, Director of Cardiopulmonary Services at UHC, an example to her standards team, but she is also a beautiful example of a heart for service. After Hurricane Harvey hit, Heather volunteered after her shifts at UHC and on the weekends at our local United Way. She filled cars with donations, sent prayers to many victims and constantly looked for ways to help those in need. She personally assisted in gathering food, cleaning supplies, toiletries, etc. for a family of 12 victims, making sure they had everything they needed. She touched so many lives during this time and continues making a difference each day.

Thank you, Heather, for volunteering your time and energy to spread hope to those affected by Hurricane Harvey and continuing to “Make a Difference” each and every day at University Hospital and Clinics.
