Lafayette General Health features two of Acadiana’s premier teaching hospitals, University Health & Clinics and Lafayette General Medical Center.
The Bariatric Surgery Department at Lafayette General Medical Center is accredited as a Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP).
Cancer Center of Acadiana spans across South Louisiana, bringing closer to home world renowned cancer treatments normally found at medical centers in Houston and New Orleans. The American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer (CoC) granted a 3-year accreditation to CCA.
In June 2013, Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) was designated as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG) by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the Surgical Review Corporation.
After undergoing an on-site evaluation and demonstrating compliance with nationally developed standards for stroke care, Lafayette General Medical Center earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval™ for certification as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
The neuroscience program at Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) attained Center of Excellence status in 2012 based on the results of a Neuroscience Center of Excellence® survey.
The orthopedics program was awarded The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® receiving the Disease-Specific Care Certification for Joint Replacement Hip and Knee.

LGMC Conducting Research Study on Lung Cancer

Cancer Center of Acadiana (CCA) at Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) is seeking men and women ages 18 and older who are current or former smokers diagnosed with Non-Squamous Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer to participate in a clinical research study.
